The simple act of uploading a photo to Facebook could see you win big and support charity.
Own an MG car? Take a photo of it and you’ll simultaneously be supporting charity and increasing your chances of winning a prize.
Car brand MG is rallying its community of past and present customers to raise funds for the Australian Red Cross, encouraging MG owners to share photos of their cars as part of the inaugural Show and Shine event.
For the month of September, MG will be accepting Facebook photo submissions from owners of new and classic MG vehicles, matching every single submission with a $5 donation to the Red Cross up to the value of $100,000.
Those who share their MG memories as part of the virtual event will also have the chance to win one of 38 prizes – with the overall prize being a $1000 fuel card.
Each day of the event, MG will select the best photo submission and share it with their followers.
If that photo receives 50-99 likes, MG will increase its donation by $20, and if a photo receives over 100 likes, the donation will increase by $50.
Given the MG brand dates back to 1924, MG owners range from modern-day SUV buyers through to enthusiast owners of classic 1930s saloons.
As such, winners will be crowned across several categories, including Best Vintage MG (1924-1954), Best Classic MG (1955-1980), Best Retro MG (1980-2008) and Best Modern MG (2009-2020) – plus a category for special-edition MG vehicles.
Prizes range from an MG merchandise pack through to a $750 Red Balloon voucher.
